EWEM is a German based windenergy project developing company which is specialised in developing, construction and financing of national and European windpower plants. The company was founded by Lorenz Peter Jensen and Andreas Knauer, an engineer and former key account manager of NEG Micon GmbH. Before founding EWEM, Andreas Knauer was a Senior Consultant with M & N and responsible for the financial realization of international windpower plants by heading the financial and legal due dilligence of said projects and negotiating them with the banks. Whereas EWEM is still developing windpower plants, it works more and more as a Consultancy Company for energy projects with an emphasis on the financial and legal due dilligence of such projects. In cooperation with well known international lawyers, EWEM prepares and updates the complete project documentation including an indepth examination of all contracts and land rights according to banking standards. Because of it's founders long experience in the international windindustry EWEM has close relationships to all key players of the industry and the banking and political scene. Especially today where finance becomes more and more a bottleneck for the realisation of windpower plants in Germany, EWEM's indepth knowledge of all comon project finance models including the subsidized loan programs of state owned KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) and the often changing legal requirements of the German banks, is a key element for it's customers in getting their projects financed.
